Very cute girl, very talented. Needs to whiten her teeth.
inspirational story !!!
Yeah but most 6 year old’s quit and someone who is 14 is old enough to know what they want and work hard for it.
She motivated me as I wanted to do ballet but I knew I was to late to join but now I’m a really good dancer 🙂
"You do the ideal in your head", like a mathematician (geometer), "and hope it translates", like a physicist (super-string theorist). (You thought I was going to say "engineer"?! … those are two or more steps removed ☺). Plato vindicated at last. (T2:17)
She did not "turn down" Harvard, she deferred … big difference. Harvard is lucky and privileged to have her, when they do.
Due to research Harvard has a 4.5% acceptance rate where as Royal Ballet has a 10-15% acceptance rate
Harvard is an overrated school of satanists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have scoliosis and I do flat ballet and I teach my self it’s make me so happy and I feel so free
She didn’t turn it down, she deferred.. total click bait, disappointing, especially as it’s a beautiful piece that literally has nothing to do with her decision to defer and everything to do with chasing dreams.
I don’t know if anyone knows this but-I’m actually like really REALLY REALLY good at sleeping.
OMG SHE WENT TO MY SCHOOL!!!
What an outstanding individual.
I turned down Harvard…it did not turn down me…as an employer, that would be excellent in reading that on her resume. I would be impressed.
I started when I was 5 years old then I gave up at 7 and now I'm starting ballet again at 11 but I'm flexible cause I train my self at home
Ballet is more interesting than getting into Harvard
One break and it’s over
Her “ritual” is known as a “dirt dive” in the skydiving world. All “professional skydivers” do this every time we are in the plane climbing to altitude.
i always regret quitting ballet when i was 10 just because i had no friends. im 20 now, and i have no hobbies or anything that i like or want to pursue. feels like its too late
I cannot imagine being this intelligent, talented and well spoken 👏🏻 best of luck to her, looking forward to seeing more from her
I relate to her so much and she’s so inspiring, I started later than most dancers and I felt depressed because of thinking I wasn’t as good as the other girls my age, but I’ve worked my way up and even made my teachers proud
…..Ballet is just So Fucking Boring …but it's a Great Way to Totally Waste your Youth !!!
Subscribe to my YouTube
she's not the first person to do this…
She talks in a very elegant way, her voice is so calming!
I’m 14 & I was in love with ballet when I was 6 but I’v never had the chance to participate in Ballet classes because there are no classes in my city.do you I’d still have the chance of getting my”being a ballerina “dream?
You can become a prodigy in 6 years ?????
go to Harvard!!!!!!
And I'm just sitting here being a potato
and then you have an acident, you lost a leg or something els! WHAT DO YOU DO? live is not only how hood you are, how talented you are….some were there is some one who help you or destroy you!
This is somehow the most inspiring video I’ve ever seen
SHE STARTED AT 14!! I started at 8 and I’m shit
Rio should do ASMR.
I wanted to take ballet, so I asked my mom. Here’s what she said:-Hon, we don’t have time-Ballet ruins your body; most ballet dancers have messed up legs/spines-Really? You do to much as it is…And the icing on the cake:-You don’t have the right body to do well in ballet My mom literally body-shamed me…
She technically didn’t turn down Harvard because she didn’t want to go there, she just found a place that would help her more
You should see me just click on dat dog picAnd watch my flexibility video
This just makes me cry and it gives me a positive energy at the same time…..❤️
is she in the company now? a wonderful(HARD work tho,) dream come true. Dance dance forever have a wonderful life! Really impressive since she started she late for classical ballet!
omg that you wehre 14 when you started while every body else started when they where 6 this is the same thing that is happening to me with figure-skating and your success is really encouraging!thx
Is there a update of where she is now?
Is her story made into. a movie ? I watched a movie which story was like hers.
I love ballet and I did it when I was small and from there on I've always had interest. Unfortunately I don't dance again but I know I have chance to learn
Harvard is overrated
I love this girl she is so well spoken as well💞
You are so gorgeous 💕💕😘
I quit ballet when I was 5 lolNow I do gymnastics
What I take away from this is the way young people speak American English. The young lady jumped all over the vocal spectrum with her intonation. Most of her sentences included some vocal fry. She was at the bottom of her vocal range at baseline.Compared that the the movies of 1960 – 1980. Women spoke with a soft tone, in the middle of their range, little pitch change.Compare that to the English of previous generations… more nasal, pitch @ the middle octaves, any intonations hinted upward.Compare that to the English of the American generations who preceded that… well actually I don’t know they weren’t recorded.I hope someone sees what I mean.I criticize nobody here.I observe.
I’ve been thinking about going back into ballet so I could get better at my turns but at the same time I don’t cause it’s not really my style. I like dances that make me sweat and have heavy breathing ( cause it’s basically like a work out)
I have ballet auditions today
I’m really good at doing nothing.
This is exactly like my story too! I hope that i improve just like her!
I’ve really been wanting to become a ballet dancer but I’m 13 and I’m not that flexible
Beautiful! Rio is a big inspiration.
Keep going at your dream. It’s ok that you turned down harbors because you are gong to another school that will get you in a very high and successful place. Soooooooo… congratulations and keep working hard for what you want!!
I take nothing away from her but the caption is wrong. A prodigy would be a student that easily picks up the material but she admits that she struggled and simply had to work extra hard to catch up. A prodigy would never need to catch up because they would be leading in their field. She’s just a very motivated and hard working individual and kudos to her but no prodigy.
So you mean the story of "ice princess" is real???
This is so inspiring
Had she ever done ballet before 14???
I like how she doesn't resent other for being good at ballet, she uses it as an inspiration for herself to be better at it.
i started at 13 and can't move up because we can't afford it
Wow! What an amazing young woman:)
Irritating the music while they are talking.
Well Done….a lot of hard work
Damn I kind of want to start I’m not for sure but I’m 15!! I danced for a little bit when I was 7 but then I stopped
As a dance teacher, she has exactly what I believe is most important to success in dancing… passion and commitment. Those two things are worth so much more than “natural talent.” I absolutely love seeing the level of success this student has attained, simply from those two elements. Congratulations to her 💖
I started at an unprofessional dance school and didn’t go to a professional dance school until I was 9 and well in ballet level one and two my teacher was like she needs to be in ballet three now I am in ballet four and I am a lot more happy. I am not kidding if you are a dancer this will kill your soul, my old dance school did not teach any technique unless you were in a competition team or a recreational competitive team.
So pretty how Rio does in ballet dancing. It's interesting hearing from what she went through, how she it felt, and how she did. I enjoyed this.
I’m glad there is someone out there who started late just like me, and that I can relate to her as well
i m the same 😭😭
"The POINTE of ballet is to make it effortless"sorry I had to lol
ANY BALLERINAS HERE!!?? WHERE YA AT!?
oml if they do a live action version of the cartoon "Ballerina" she should play Félicie
Wow! I hope to be good at ballet one day too. Im going to start at 12 years old now. I used to go when i was super young but then i stopped
I feel so encouraged by her, I’m almost 13, and I just started dance class. I’m the oldest by two years. It’s kinda difficult but they are all really supportive!
She is a true ballerina
I started ballet at age 10 but I had to start at the very bottom because I had never learned it before. Now I’m 11 and in level 3, and I feel really appreciated.
i started ballet three weeks ago in level 1 with 6 year olds, and i’m 13. but they’re not that skilled.
this has inspired me to work harder and be more confident while on point, thank you!
So can I dance? I am 16 and wondering if I can do classes
I wish they hadn't used "prodigy" to describe her. That word is how people ignore hard work. She worked very hard for her dancing and chalking that up to just "natural born talent" is an insult to her diligence and work ethic.
I'm so sad about quitting gymnastics. I did it for quite a long time but I didn't like the people there and I lost my motivation. I was extremely good and it was my passion… Now, 5 or 6 years later there's nothing left. I'm not flexible anymore, I'm lazy. Every attempt in trying to start any type of sports ends in unmotivation and I just quit it because of the people there. I can't change myself. After school I'll try it again. Probably only with a trainer, due to my problems with other persons.
But I don't know if I will ever start with gymnastics again. I'm afraid of it because I couldn't cope with the fact that I ,perhaps, can't become as good as I was.
I was in a similar place as her, except I started when I was 3. I was forced to quit once, just to start again 3 years later. My skills had dropped drastically, and I dropped Ballet altogether because of the pressure very recently. I wish all the best for her, I understand how it must've felt to be in the same classes as younger, better students.
She didnt turn down Harvard she deferred…big difference…dont say whats not right…twat
her story is so relatable and inspires me for way to many reasons
She is, because she started really late, at 14 years old, that's pretty late!
Wonderful! I adore ballet and I have the greatest respect for those who dedicate their lives to this particular art.
I go to ballet city accdemy and trust me ballet is so hard
She is such so inspiring
CLICKBAIT! She's not a prodigy and I don't predict greatness in professional ballet for her. Sorry. Also, she didn't turn down Harvard, she deferred. And frankly admission to elite universities is a bit suspect at the moment. I wonder if her parents are wealthy.
Yeah visualization didn't do it for her, perseverance and hard work did. Still, I don't see her making it big as a professional.
I feel inspired 💗
