How to clear your browser history on an Android device – Audio description

– [Voiceover] This video
provides instructions for clearing browser
history on Android devices. The narration is mirrored
by a visual demonstration that shows the actions
required to achieve this on an Android device. – [Voiceover] When you
browse the internet, your browser history leaves
a trail of the places you visited online. Other people can follow
this trail if they want and more than your
privacy could be at stake. Login details and personal
information are sometimes also stored in your browser history. If you don’t want someone to
know the websites you visited, you can erase your trail by
clearing your browser history. Android devices allow you to
clear your browser history. Here’s how if you’re
using the default browser for Android devices, Google Chrome. While your Android device
might be a little different to the one on screen, the steps to clear browser
history will be similar. Open Google Chrome and tap
more in the top right corner. Tap settings and then locate and tap Privacy, tap Clear Browsing Data, at Clear Data from, tap the down arrow and select however long
back you want to clear your search history. Select the types of
data you want to clear, if you’re very concern about your privacy, check all the boxes so that
everything gets cleared, tap Clear Data. Another option to keep
your browsing private is to use incognito mode. Watch our separate video
on incognito browsing. Find out more at e-Safety for Women. – [Voiceover] The video
concludes with an end credit of the Australian Government crest, alongside the title, Office of the Children’s
eSafety Commissioner, the brand mark for the
programme, eSafety for Women and the URL, www.esafety.gov.au/women.
