  • >suggesting that what the Japanese did to the Chinese is worse than what the Germans did to the Jews.

So, can you share Richard Spencer’s number with the rest of us? We’re terribly curious

  • LOL People keep saying communist this and communist that. And China this and China that. Have any of them ever wondered if the party were so evil, how was it possible to have the Chinese civilians to help them fight the KMT? By forcing them? Lmao. Why don't they Listen to their own words? They said it like it is so easy to force millions of people doing what they didn't want. Lmao, in their theory, Japan would have conquered China with your brilliant method by assimilating all the Chinese to fight for them huh. The communist party's military was filled with normal people who signed up for it willingly to fight for dependence after KMT slaughtered any communist members on sight and hung their heads on the power pillar in the streets with iron cages. Why don't they hate their own system, after all, capitalism has been the real evil established on the blood and sweat of the people around the world compared with communism. Hate something just because they have been taught to. Pathetic. What kind of democracy is it when people can't think other than what the prevalent opinion led by the media told people to believe. People keep saying Chinese are blinded. Why don't they look at themselves? Maybe they'll find more similarities with this characteristic than Chinese does. Maybe mind your own business and care more for the Indians whose ancestors had been slaughtered by yours mercilessly? Chinese are doing fine. It would be even better if you stop slandering their country.

  • I didn't know China 中 fought a war with the Japanese 日本語 language!

  • The close military cooperation between Japan and US is rather unsettling.
I respect both countries' culture just don't bring that militarism back to Japan.

  • My great uncle fought for the KMT as a cavalry officer in Shanghai. He later changed allegiance to the CCCP. He died in Shanghai, China a coupe of years ago.

  • I am Japanese and you are not 100 percent right !
Very unhappy ! How much did you get from Chinese ?

  • My Filipina grandmother was born in 1930. She told me that as a teenager she saw Japanese soldiers bayonet babies. To this day, I remember her crying as she told me that story.

  • 0:11 "Middle Japanese-language" war

  • Korea (Chosun back then) had never been a part of Qing dynasty.

  • the rape of nanking is honestly so gruesome that the us should have jumped in right from there

  • The Kuomintang didn't get founded until far later. The 1911 Revolution was very disparate and disorganized with different groups all over.

  • A Jew sponsored by a bank.
    I'm utterly amazed.

  • "The Japanese were frustrated after what they would have thought to be an easy victory"
    Parry this you fucking

  • The the Federalists the Nationalists of America wanted to stay out the Affairs of Asia and Europe the United States military has two Navy fleet's the battle groups thousands of men living on the water two battalions soldiers Marines it's not for America protection it's for their protection because China and North Korea want to see the whole Japanese race destroyed

  • I know the video is old already but at the start you made a mistake using Japanese, the right is "中国 – 日本戦争"
中 this kanji (naka) as you wrote means "inside"
日本語 (Nihongo) this means Japanese language 日本(Nihon/Japan) 語(Go/language).
In Japanese when we meant about the country "Japan" just refer as Nihon, and also for Japanese (people) 日本人 (nihonjin).
But also awesome video at all!(^^)/

  • Armchair historians you should’ve have mentioned the Burma Campaign. Many Chinese forces were order to aid Britain in the fight against the Japanese in Burma when, the British were ambush by the Japanese. Also it’s important to mention it, since Burma is vital for the Chinese to receive aid from Britain to keep up with the war against Japan, if Burma is lost China will starve and lose the war, but instead Chinese Enter Burma to try to take back Burma from the Japanese.

  • never forget…

  • I wonder how china find out Japan invade them when they BOTH look a like lol i bet both land's was killing they on WARRIORS !

  • “Look at the war crimes the British, Germans, Russians, Italians, and Americans committed in WW2.”
    Japan: nervous sweat

  • This channel is American propaganda .. I feel bad for anyone who goes to American schools. This kid needs hit with a Howard Zinn book

  • Clearly the Japanese underestimated the capability of Chinese to resist. To the uttermost foolishness is to have the United States engaged at the same time, thus comes a disaster for them.

  • The Chinese are reserving their strength for civil war.

  • I’m Chinese:D

  • You never understand that Japan was lured into the war against Chiang Kai-shek's Nationalist forces. The key is "Tungchow Massacre (通州事件)"in which more than 230 Japanese were brutally massacred. The incident took place on July 29, 1937, just after the Marco Polo Incident. At the outbreak of 1937 Shanghai War, Nationalist force swarmed into the Japanese Consession in Shanghai, violating the peace treaty made after 1931 Shanghai War. On the outbreak of 1937 Shanghai War. the swarming Nationalist force was ten times bigger than 4,000 Japanese Marine Corps defending the Japanese Consession. Hoe could the 1/10 size of the army start the invasion?

  • China was in civil war and Japan took advantage of it. The civil war was then halted to fight the Japanese together. After Japan was defeated, the civil war resumed.

  • Although i love japanese people, but i think they deserved nuclear bomb, because they did a lot of atrocities and they didn't want to surrender

  • without subtitle very difficult to comprehend your accent…😅😅😁😁
iam ok with the anime english accent only

  • If we would have let Japan keep China, we would not have communist China today.

  • All because America brought Japan out of their isolation with the power of freedom.

  • ☹️
The Japanese flag has been 🇯🇵 since before World War II.
    Rising Sun is the colors

  • Chang Kai Sheck: More like "Cash my check".

  • China is more fascist than communist now

  • Globe….ha….. history buff right ?! Its flat and any decent history buff would know….

  • Ummm…
Everything is pretty much correct in this video except for u keep saying japan took Korea from China and the map that show Korea as part of China.
Just to be clear Korea was its own thing, it’s own kingdom not apart of China when japan invaded n annexed it so….

  • I mean, I get the former hate by china of the Japanese, but their old government, the ones who decided to do all that to them, is long gone. The people were "re-educated" when america helped re-build japan too. There aren't many people left alive in japan who remember, let alone participated in the atrocities committed and given the opportunity, I dont think for a second they would choose to repeat them. Today's Japan is WAY different than ww2 Japan. If the rest of the world can get over hating Germany, which we have, then China can get over their hate of Japan.

  • I get that this video is supposed to be about history, but I see all these people debating on which side of China is better. I’m pretty late but here’s my opinion.

    They both suck.

The Kuomintang and Communist party were both pretty ruthless. For starters, the Communist party’s former leader Mao Zedong is probably the leader with the most blood on his hands. People were starved, round up, shot, and forced into practical slavery. I remember my dad telling me that sometime in the 1980s, petty theft could sometimes result in execution. Deng Xiaoping, second premier of the PRC responded to a students protest in Tiananmen Square with tanks and gunfire. Now, there is constant surveillance in China, as well as corruption, territorial disputes, cultural oppression and acts of political and economic aggression towards other states. I can say that the metropolises of modern China are great, (and they are) but these metropolises were built on dead bodies, as well as the other things you might enjoy in China as well.

As for Taiwan, I could make a controversial (I’m sure if people read this there might be a war in the comments thread) argument saying that they were equally as bad (Please note I am regarding their treatment towards the Chinese people.) to the people of China. On April 12, 1927, the KMT entered Shanghai and massacred those suspected of being communist sympathizer or spies. Innocent people were literally beheaded in public after being harassed and interrogated. This event caused the civil war itself. Another incident was the Yellow River flood in 1938 in which the nationalist government decided to open up dykes to cause a flood just to halt the Japanese invasion. In doing so, he flooded towns, crops, and homes. The flood killed around 400 000- 500 000 people and created a refugees crisis. Much of the land flooded back then couldn’t even be settled on. There are probably more atrocities I haven’t mentioned (for both sides) and probably more unsung of. Seeing how self destructive both sides were, I’m a little bit curious. What if the Kuomintang won the civil war? I doubt it would have as many dead bodies as Mao’s reign but I would assume that the Chinese people would still suffer based off their other self-destructive acts.

I’m not saying that either of these sides didn’t do anything good either. Communist China is a leading superpower now and Taiwan is an Asian Tiger economy, shaping our world.

In the end, I don’t think my opinion really matters. I just wanted to give you my insight on the topic from a person who has family who went through these things. Because ultimately, your opinion is yours and I want to let you know that whatever opinion you may reach, I respect it. Have a nice day!🙂

  • Forgot about soviet-Japanese actions in April-May 1939 around Manchuria

  • For some reason at the beginning, you wrote simply "middle" (as opposed to "Middle Kingdom"), and "Japanese language" in kanji.

Hire someone who knows what they are doing next time.

  • If China starves themselves of food again, which they will. I will propose a Northern Japanese Invasion of China and not Southern.

  • How did Japan invade China
    Answer illegally

  • I thought ip man ended the war

  • Communist, state. Pick one, u cant have both

  • Yup a lot of very important contexts are missing here the Russo Japanese war
Their proxy superpower connection to the United States and Great Britain.
Both Britain and United States Navies were the dominant Navies in the region.
Japan would not have been able to project power or any amphibious landings without the ok of either of these powers

Japan was an Allie of GB and had a secret pack with US

Both Britain and USA wanted to keep the Russians out of China and this part of the pacific
They used Japan “honorary Arians” (Teddy Roosevelt)
Allowed and encouraged the Russo Japanese war the sinking if the Russian fleets
    The occupation of Korea
    The invasion of Manchuria .
    Lots missing !

  • The Kanji you used for 'Japanese' in the title actually means the 'Japanese language'.

  • I read a book about this whole thing, and the word "rape" appears at least once on every page.

  • As a Chinese, I gotta say that China in the last century was just a huge brawl of blood… and the reason the Japanese crimes are so controversial is because the communist persecutions overshadow them and hatred towards Japanese is being used as a tool to monger hate by the CCP today

  • Those Japanese sure were crazy

  • These days china may take only one hour to conquer the Japan.
Those days Chinese were not united but now they are different.

  • 5:29 it was part of chinese strategy to open a second front in shanghai, its easier to conquer china from north to south since ancient time, and harder from east to west, chinese troops also destroy dams and levees to create massive flooding to cut off north and south china

  • Never get involved in a land war with China.

  • You talk too fast man it was difficult to follow your annunciation needs work

  • You do know that the characters used to "subtitle" Sino-Japanese war translate into "Middle" and "Japanese language" right?

    Middle Japanese Language War.

  • Sounds like what the US has done before several of its wars with mideast 🥴🥴

  • At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the Eight-Power Coalition gave the Qing Dynasty the last blow, and then the warlords began to scuffle. At the weakest time in China, Japan occupied the Korean Peninsula ahead of time. Then the three northeastern provinces threatened the last emperor of China to the northeast and turned into a puppet to obey Japan. Then they went south and attacked. They had been planned before the war. This is the case. At that time, the Chinese national government was in chaos. Although there was a government, the factions were chaotic, and the civilians had a hard time surviving. Later, Communism emerged with the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and with Russia fighting in the Northeast, China's battlefield held back a large number of Japanese.

  • Strange how theres little to no mention of the sacrifices made by the Chinese people in American history books. They make it seem like the only country fighting Japan was the US.

  • So these comments are open? But the Nazi video isnt. Shame on you. Thumbs down, n I'm unsubbing.

  • The Republic of China is the most underated country from WWII IMO

  • The music comes from sushi cat.

  • How did Japan invade China? The Japanese used ships, because there was a lot of water between Japan and China.

  • That isn't the map of Japan in 1927.

  • uummm, right off the bat – china isn't communist. no communist society is going to have millionaires and billionaires. that's the absolute antithesis to communism. also, china has never been communist. socialism is a democratic ideology. mao was no more a communist than stalin. they were both vicious fascist dictators. again, a complete antithesis to communism. china is, and always has been capitalist regardless of their idiotic rhetoric and the propaganda claims of the "western" elite.

  • That's why Japan got nuked.

  • Read "The Rape of Nanking" if you dare. The pictures are hard to look at.

  • LoL That's "China vs Japanese language"

  • "In WW2" Only begins over 7 minutes into the video.

  • Japan invasion of China was only possible due to adaptation of western technology and the fact that China was politically and socially a giant mess. But even with the sheer brutality and superior technology of the Japanese, the Chinese never gave up and the huge population and manpower of China limited the Japanese to occupying only the coastal and eastern areas of China while the vast western countryside was left unharmed (albeit mass bombings did happen)

  • It's not confirmed who blew up the railroad. Always say the story of both sides when there is no confirmation

  • I love watching these!
Has anyone mentioned how many of these soldiers look like Boomhauer from king of the hill? lol

  • The Nationalists forces bear the brunt of the fighting against the invading Japanese armies. At the end of the conflict, the expended and exhausted Nationalists had to fight against the Communists under Mao but they got clobbered and forced to retreat and evacuated to Taiwan. Poor leadership and battle tactics led to their defeats by the Communists.

  • They. Kill china men

  • i hate that high pitched flute sound, it sounds like a buzz that doesn't fucking go away

  • Chinese civil war, like that hasn't happened a million times.

  • The two nuclear bomb drops on Japan were merciful in comparison to the years of torture, murder, rape, and pillaging done by the Japanese Army to the occupied regions and territories to the nations of Asia.

  • Ah….hello? China never own Korea

  • China: Japanese music starts playing
    Japan: Chinese music starts playing

  • Absolutely fascinating. I can’t help but feel foolish for being so ignorant of the world’s past. I am hungry to learn more.

  • I can already see the Japanese nationalists trying to deny it and claim that it was a conspiracy

  • 300,000

  • I aint payin
    Find a job

  • Many people look at Japan as a glorious country but don’t know the dark truth behind it. True, the technology there is great, but look at this. And have they, in any way, apologized at least?

  • I dislike japan!!!!!!

  • I am hong kong chinese!!!!!

  • Shang Kai Shrek vs Lord ‘Hirohito’ Farquaad

  • Do you think the Japanese had big foam number one fingers for sporting events

  • Looking at how China behaves nowadays I hope Japan is still invading them.

  • The Chinese Communists had it all planned out from the beginning. They purposely allowed Chiang Kai-Shek and the Nationalists to exhaust themselves fighting the Japanese while they quietly conserved and built up their strength so they could easily overpower the Nationalists when the Civil war resumed.

  • I smell communist shenanigans in starting this.

  • What China and Japan need to understand are the war's been over for practically 90 years. Time for them to just get along and toke the dube.

  • Pretty much most of the countries in the worls has been in the wrong side of Morality. Proud to be an Indian. Being the biggest democracy in the world, we have never invaded other countries and still self sustained on our own untill Europeans invaded us.

  • Nanking never happened.

  • Korea should have modernised as well and abolish their tributary things with Qing.Things would have been different if this happened. The three countries would have coexisted peacefuly.

  • Well, fair enough, the mongul chinese did invade japan twice when china was still the superpower that time.

But the rape of nanjing was brutal though. Has been living in China for the past 2 years and as far as i know, the younger generations of the chinese don't hate the japanese.

  • "possibly single largest atrocities in history" pretty sure the people in Nagasaki and Hiroshima would disagree.

  • My grandpa fought against the Chinese and he moved to America after the war .He hated Chinese people and joined the army after all three of his brother where killed. He was from Hiroshima so my great grand mother and his two younger sisters both died. My mom once was told me that my grandpa jokingly said that he volunteered to become a kamikaze pilot but he was stationed on the Chines front and later took part in Operation Ichi-Go.

  • Nobody can deny the atrocities of the Japanese during the war, but they should be neither exaggerated – (Like some Chinese do) – nor overlooked – (Like some Japanese do).
But these things aside, even being as Eurocentric as possible, I like Japan and its culture; my favourite Asian country.

  • Damn Qing China is thicc

  • In fact, at that time, KMT had done well enough, but it lost a lot of farmer, worker.
    And, history is always joking.XD
However, many Chinese people are in chaos, and they can't realize who is the owner of this country, LMAO, don't we want harmony?

  • This reminds me when I play RISK, I would make allies and they say they wouldn't attack me. I focus on attacking other people. Little did I know my 'allies' moved their army in the neutral countries, and attacked me, thus crippling me to a state of no return. The Japanese was naive to think the Soviets wouldn't attack them.

  • Japan is 10 years ahead of the rest of the countries because they haven’t participated in any major big war since 1945.
