A Walk Through Black History at Marsteller Middle School

– We are very excited to be recognizing Black History Month 2020 at
Marsteller Middle School. To honor this year’s Black
History national theme, African Americans and the Vote, we have designed a symbolic
walk through history. As you walk the halls of Marstellar, you get to explore some
of the rich history of African Americans and
their enormous contributions to our great country. One of the ways our displays
will be interactive, families will have to scan a QR code to learn more information about
one of our featured people. Throughout the month of February, we have displays, lessons,
and presentations, highlighting well-known
facts and some unknown facts about black history. Each day, our students
share facts as part of our daily announcements.
– Good morning, my name is Michael and today’s
African American spotlighit will be on artists Kehinde
Wiley and Amy Sherald. – [Janika] And we have a
continuous digital presentation during lunch periods highlighting
African American history and contributions to the world. (upbeat music)
